Our History

Highpoint Academy was founded in 1976 by its current Principal/Owner Alicia A. Casanova who has dedicated her life to the school and to education. The school has been nurturing and educating children from age 2 (Toddlers) thru the 8th Grade for over 45 years.  Highpoint is a private, bilingual, family-oriented, non-sectarian, accredited school. Both campuses are located in southwest suburbs of Miami-Dade County.

​Highpoint' Main Campus sits on 3 acres of land surrounded by over 14 acres of Parks and Recreation. The school provides a globally focused academic education for average to above average students. 

Highpoint's Coral Way Campus sits on five acres of land just 3 miles east of the Main Campus. The program was started in 2003 by Dr. Jiliann DeVilliers, who has been the school's Program Director since then.  In 2010, the program moved to a new location on Coral Way.  Our Coral Way Campus serves to educate and nurture Kindergarten thru 8th Grade students who require a more individualized school setting due to their different learning styles. At our Coral Way Campus, a unique arrangement of teaching procedures, adapted equipment and materials, accessible settings, and other interventions designed to help learners with special needs achieve a higher level of personal self-sufficiency and increased self-esteem. ​www.highpointacademy.com/coral-way-campus.html
