Emergency Procedures
IN CASE OF ANY SEVERE WEATHER EMERGENCY, our school will close when Miami Dade County Public Schools are closed. In the event our school must close sooner or is ready to re-open earlier, information will be posted on our school's website. You may also call the school for information, extension #103 (see below)... As posted in our HANDBOOK (pgs. 16-17), under NATURAL DISASTER GUIDELINES: "our policy is to follow the decisions made and announced by the Miami Dade County Public Schools System. Please stay tuned for the local news for information and instructions with this regard." (These announcements are continuously given on local T.V. stations and via live Press Conferences by our Mayor.)
NOTE: If severe weather conditions occur during school hours, all children will remain indoors. Parents are urged to come to our school as soon as possible to pick up their child/children. Employees will be assigned to facilitate dismissal under our school's covered driveway. Please state the name of your child as you approach the main entrance door, and then circulate around the driveway until your child is visible to you.
WHEN YOU CALL OUR SCHOOL (305)552-0202, PLEASE DIAL EXTENSION #103 (RECEPTIONIST'S EXTENSION). We will use this Extension to record announcements regarding school closings and any other special announcement.
GO ONLINE, (www.highpointacademy.com), and check out the initial message on our website. Specific announcements/instructions will be posted there for your information.
